Microphone issues?

So i have a late 2011 MacBook pro and i have a play some games with friends and get into Skype calls with them. As of late though, my mic doesn't work and when i looked up how to fix it i found this. its doesn't use the internal mic and neither of these two options work. even the audio setup tool doesn't have a internal mic option. someone please help.
