Recently my original Sport Watch stopped working with Siri. I thought it might be due to either my phone or watch being on beta. But even with a long press of the crown summoning Siri, it does recognize any voice input. Anyone else having problems with the microphone on their original Watches?

I sometimes have had troubles with speaker, and Siri recognition.

Try a reset. And if already tested it, try unpairing/pairing. It should do a backup and when pairing again restore it.

I had this problem as well.
Check settings->Restrictions and turn on Siri

I had this and it was a blocked mic hole. I’d been on holiday and the mic hole was clogged with sun cream. I cleaned it gently with a cocktail stick and then blew it out with some air. Works perfectly now.
