So my wife has a new Mac Mini the main purpose of which is for logging into work through Citrix.
In setting this up I've hit a bit of a brick wall over the new microphone security "feature".
Citrix is into a windows environment, part of which it is set up to launch Webex integrated into her Outlook account. Because everything is happening under Citrix Workspace, it appears Webex is not asking to use anything.
Citrix Workspace has requested use of the webcam as a camera - but doesn't seem inclined to ask to use the microphone built into it (which otherwise works fine for FaceTime etc.).
As a workaround I have directly downloaded Webex as an Mac app (and it has requested use of camera and microphone), but it may not be ideal for the use case.
Am I bonkers to think that plugging a separate USB microphone in while Citrix Workspace is running may get it to request use of that (it is set to ask position to use USB devices which are connected whilst it is running)? And that having been granted the security privileges it may just be able to use the webcam microphone that is really clearly there?
Any other (less janky) suggestions on how to get Workspace to ask for use of the webcam's microphone?
