Microphone works only on speakerphone

I just got my iPhone 4 yesterday and the first call I made the call was perfect and everything was just right. After that the microphone only works in speakerphone. I can hear the other person no matter what but they can only hear me when I'm on speakerphone. This is driving me nuts and I've been searching everywhere for a solution. I've tried updating software and even restoring it but nothing seems to work. Thank you for any help!

Get that device back to apple for a replacement, sounds like something's gone wrong in the hardware. Apple should cover it.

Take it back and get another one. Just a faulty one.
