ow do you program the buttons on this mouse? I cannot find them in the manual

It should be the same as other MS mice, you install the intellipoint software and it will put a link to the mouse in the other section (at the bottom) of System Preferences.

When I pull up that site it wont let me search for the mouse I have and no it did not come with a setup cd

Careful, says it's for 10.2 - 10.4. It will probably work, but who knows if it'll cause kernel panics.

It works but it didnt have any options for the side button that mine has. I need to program it to go "back" on a website. So was this not safe to run it?

If it's not causing problems, then I guess it's okay. I had read an earlier post that the MS Driver caused issues, and in some instances kernel panics. Probably had nothing to do with driver, but who knows.

I use the 5000 as well. Would like to use the other buttons, but unsure if it's worth it or not...
