Is there anyway to download addons to the quicktime viewer on the iphone 3G so I can play videos that normally play on the Microsoft Media Player? Or if you have anyother ideas. Thanks.

Nothing that I'm aware of.
If you're talking about Windows Media files (.wmv) You can use Flip4Mac (you need the WMV Pro components @ $29.00) together with QuickTime (not sure if you need QT Pro or not) to open .wmv files and then export them to iPhone format.
