Microsoft Messenger "Groups" Problem

So, a person I know has started a group on MSN, and I joined the group on hotmail. But now on the Messenger application itself, it doesn't seem to say anywhere whether I am part of that group or not. Has this problem happened to anyone else, and if so, can it be fixed easily?
