Hi guys,

I downloaded MSN Messenger for Mac 7.0.2 and then downloaded Microsoft Office for Mac 2008. Office automatically includes an older version of Messenger which I deleted. I found a folder in Documents that had been created during the installation of Office and it's called Microsoft User Data. In that folder is a folder called Microsoft Messenger Data and within that folder are two more called 'cache' and a long number. Is this folder connected to my newer Messenger or is it useless and can I delete it?

Thanks!

I wouldn't talk about downloading Office 2008, since there's no legal way to download it at this time. :) I'm sure you just meant that you installed it from your disc.

You don't need to do anything to your Messenger folder. Leave it where it is; Messenger 7 will find it.

In the future, when you install Office, you should do a custom installation so that you don't install the stuff you don't need. That way, you'll avoid having this kind of question at all.

Regards,
Nadyne.
