So, I installed Microsoft Office 2008 last night. This morning, I've noticed a very strange and indeed fairly debilitating new problem with Safari. With certain fonts on webpages (including the one used on this site), occasionally characters overlap to become unreadable.

I can only imagine this is Office's problem, as I've never seen this before. A quick search showed some people with similar issues, but no fixes. Any ideas?

I have seen this problem before. Did you have Safari opened when you installed Office 08? You should follow the advice of the second poster and I'm sure it will be fixed.

Simple Solution for Leopard

Well, I found the same problem yesterday and I must admit that when installing Office I probably had Safari open against expert advice from MS ;-)

The solution I found was to simply reboot OS X and afterwards Safari worked fine.
