I don't use office 08 that much since it's summer and school's out. But its so SLOW. I wait like minutes for it to just open up. Is Microsoft trying to compete for slowest app since it's Vista lost the fastest OS to boot to Leopard? Anyone else with this problem? I'm just frustrated.

2008 has problems and many have complained here on the board
It is slow and the interface is not an improvement in my opinion

I wish I had stayed with 2004 even though it was not native
It was faster for me, and Excel was better
Hopefully VBA will come back in the next version

You can try NeoOffice... its free and supposedly compatible

iWork is the better bet if you don't need all of Excel

Yea, I'm considering that when I upgrade to a MacBook Pro at the end this year, I'll probably switch to iWork. I use both, and mainly have Office for backup. I don't use it that much, and spend a hell of money on it compared to the other apps out there.
