An important update of Microsoft Office 2010 for my iMac downloads nicely about 95%, with two minutes to go, but then just grinds along - won't finish for hours. What can I do to get my update downloaded?

Either you're in the wrong section of the forum, or you have an older version of Office for Mac.
Microsoft Office 2010 is Windows.
Microsoft Office 2011 is Mac, but intel-only.
