Hey guys, just got my 2011 MBP 17" with Lion on it and recently installed an OWC 6G Mercury Extreme Pro SSD in it (just giving some background on hardware/software)

Today, every time I click Record in Notebook Mode withing MS Office 2011 it gives me a beachball and I cannot do anything as the program is frozen. I have to force quit.

Anyone have any recommendations? Maybe downgrade to MS 2010?:confused:

I had weird Office freezes when I first installed my OCZ Vertex 3.

Booting from the old hard-drive and doing a disk repair and repair permissions on the SSD made a huge difference.

Can't i just use disc repair on the SSD booting from it?

No, you can't do a disk repair on the boot disk.
It's one of the reasons to keep a boot DVD around, you can boot from that and run the disk tools during the install to repair the internal drive.

You can do a permissions repair which is a start.
