When do you anticipate Microsoft Office 2013 will be released for Mac and is it likely it will be torrented?

I was planning to upgrade to Mountain Lion and Office for Mac 2011 soon. But maybe I will wait for 2013 to come out. However, does anyone know if my files created in 2004 will open in 2013?

If you're referring to the WinDoze version of Office 2013 - yes, it will open documents created in Office 2004.

Keep in mind that Microsoft hasn't officially, or unofficially announced the next version of Office for Mac. Any speculation on Office for Mac 2013 is just that.

Unless you are doing a lot of VBA stuff (I don't even know if the VBA stuff in Office 2011 for Mac works like it does on a Windows machine), Microsoft Office is not even needed.

LibreOffice works very well on OS X, and it's free.
