Is Microsoft Office compatible with the new Intel-Mac's. I am interested in the new iMac, but if am going to have issues with software, I am better off buying a G5 iMac for $300 less.

This has been asked and answered many times before. Office is PPC-only but runs on Intel-based Macs using Rosetta. Microsoft is due to update Office next month, but the update will be PPC-only. There will not be a Universal Binary version of Office until the next release of the suite. This is some time away.
