Microsoft Office quick switch question.

Might finally have my dad on the Apple kick, since i've gone 3 years without an issue and he calls me every week to fix his computer

One thing I don't know about is Microsoft Office tho since i've never used it. Will he be able to open his Windows Word files on OSX when he gets Microsoft Office for his new laptop?

Also does anyone if they would do a licence transfer thing to OSX or is that probably out of the question for Microsoft?

Mac Word can open and edit Windows Word files. There may be some slight formatting differences but personally I've yet to have any major problems.

It's not possible to convert a Windows Office licence into a Mac one, but find out whether he is eligible for HUP.
