I have two Mac's that I use, my old faithful iMac High Sierra, still great, using Office 2011. My other is a MacBook Pro using Big Sur, no Office on it.

What version of Office do I need for Big Sur that will also run on High Sierra? Ideally, I want to upgrade my iMac High Sierra Office to an Office Version that will run on Big Sur.

I am thinking about upgrading the Late 2013 iMac to Big Sur, the most I can do with this machine, and then using Office on the MacBook Pro, and the iMac.

The Office 2021 license will not activate before a specific version of Office, and you can't run current versions of Office apps on Big Sur. I would be surprised if it works for you. I would strongly consider upgrading past Big Sur if your computer supports it. You'd need to be on macOS Ventura (13.x) to run current versions of Office apps.

If I have two Macs running Big Sur, can I buy an individual license for each Mac.

Pay 22.41 for one mac, and 22.41 for the other mac, giving me a copy of Office on each Mac?

I think that Office 2016 will run on both High Sierra, and Big Sur. So for $40 I should be able to buy a individual license for the iMac, and the Mac Book Pro.

I am right here???????
