In looking for an alternative to the horribly degraded Address Book and iCalendar in OS 10.7 Lion, I made the mistake of giving Outlook a test spin. As I remember, I had it import contacts from the Address Book database. One of the reasons I didn't adopt it is that it replaced all the hard returns in the Notes field with spaces. So, I closed it, thinking that's that. Little did I know that I had somehow given Microsoft authorization to take over my Mac. Although I've never opened Outlook since, it apparently imposed its messed up data on the Address Book database. Now I'll have to manually edit 1500+ contacts. Thanks, Microsoft. :-(
My question is: How do I get rid of this diabolical saboteur? There's nothing to disable in System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items. In Activity Monitor I see cryptically named entities such as Microsoft AU Daemon, but I have no idea which is the offending agent, let alone how to keep it/them from loading on startup in the first place.
Any guidance is most appreciated.
