I have a Microsoft powerpoint in MAC format, can I open and edit the file on windows?

Do you mean the software, as in Microsoft PowerPoint itself? Or a presentation made in PowerPoint on a Mac?

If it's the latter, then yes. PowerPoint files made on a Mac can be opened in PowerPoint in Windows.

THANKS!! Yeap, my friend is trying to send me a powerpoint file that created on a mac, so I was wondering whether the file can be opened on my Windows.

But can we edit the files?

Yes you can - but tell your friend to run a compatibility report on the ppt before he/she emails it to you - just to be on the safe side; and assuming that you don't have a ancient version of PowerPoint on your Windows machine
