Is there or will there ever be any software that edits or at least opens Microsoft Publisher files (.pub)? I had to go to use a pc today because my Mac can't open these files. haha and don't say to just convert them to pdfs.

There are no file converters for Publisher files. Went through this a year ago. If it doesn't exist today, I don't see it ever existing.

Use Zamzar.com online. It's free and it works. Upload your .pub file and it'll convert it and email it back to you in its new format. It will change .pub files into...

From .pub - Microsoft Publisher to:
doc - Microsoft Word Document
html - Hypertext Markup Language
odt - OpenDocument Text Document
pcx - Paintbrush Bitmap Image
pdf - Portable Document Format
png - Portable Network Graphic
ps - Postscript document
rtf - Rich Text Format
txt - Text document

Thank you so much!

I just used the zamzar website to convert my .pub file into a .doc file. I can now open the file! I am really grateful! Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction!
cheers:)

Wow, this problem has been plaguing me for years, i make adverts in Quark and inDesign, and when clients send me PUB files it drives me mad!
I usually have to email the file to and friend and he sends it back in a format that normal people use.

Thanks for the link, this will now save me time :)
