I'm working on a macbook pro. I've got a home network connection so that everything can get to anything else via a workgroup. My macbook pro can mounts automatically to any pc that is currently turned on. I can get to any shared directory via finder no problem. I am able to print to a printer that is connected to a pc on my network, and I'm able to remote desktop to my pc from another pc on my network. I now need to connect to a scanner that is connected to one of my network pcs. I downloaded the rdc 2.x from microsoft hoping this would give me what i need. It looks just like the pc version so I figured this was going to be a piece of cake. I went to rdc to my pc from my macpro but I keep getting 'The MAC cannot connect to the Windows-based computer." I am new to mac so I have not idea even where to begin. I can ping my pc using workgroupname/computer name. If I try to ping using just the computer name it does not recognize it. I don't know if this helps but I thought I'd add it. If you have any suggestions please be detailed to help me get through it as a new user. Thanks for helping me in advance.
