iPhone 12 mini Microsoft Teams notifications coming through to bluetooth headphones connected to iphone

Hello
I am currently using an iphone 12 mini and am using Sennheiser Momentum 3 headphones. I don't know if that's relevant.
What I do know is that Microsoft Teams chat notifications come through to the headphones. it stops the music as well and then continues. It's super annoying. I've tried turning off notifications on the app and on the phone through settings. Does any one else have this issue?

Disable the notifications. Every app that gets notifications permission, will sound on your headphones "interrupting" the music. That's how notifications work.
