Hi, this problem has existed for a couple of years now.

When you view MS Word in full window view and then swipe back to the desktop, MS Word remains the programme that you're controlling. If that makes sense?

So if you swipe back to the desktop and type "hello", "hello" will appear on the MS Word document, even though you're on the desktop. You can click a Safari window, for example, and you'll then control that. But it's very annoying when you think you're typing a web address but end up typing in your document.

Any remedies? Is it fixed in the new OS?

It isn't a Safari problem, it's Word. Switching from Safari full screen to the desktop returns you to the 'Finder'.

Whereas Word full screen to desktop leaves you on Word.

Yes. I know. Ignore my post about macOS and application focus issues. Yours are probably completely different. Not related at all.
