I have a MacBook. Am working on long microsoft word document. Shut down computer last night. Opened it today. Looked for some work I did yesterday. Couldn't find it. Spotlight found it, where it was meant to be (in my word document) but when I tried to find it again it wasn't there. I called Apple Care Support and they had no idea about this. The reason I'm asking is that if Spotlight finds it, it must be there somewhere. Thanks in advance. (1000 words are missing)

Did you save it? If so, try opening Microsoft Word and going to File Menu>1 Blah Blah.doc where Blah Blah.doc is the name of your file.

If you are finding it in spotlight then open it via spotlight and resave it where you want it.

The only thing i can suggest would be to open up word then go 'File>Open Recent' and see if the document is there.

thanks

I am SUCH a newbie (ninny) that I couldn't figure out how to reply except this way. I had tried your suggestion. No luck but thanks for responding
