Hey so I was on my laptop at school, closed it and headed to a lab meeting I had. Once getting to my meeting I opened the laptop and expected it to start back up but it just sat there. I hit the power button to see if it would start back on and it wouldn't.

So I held the power button down and heard it click off. Then I hit the power button to turn it back on and the cd drive will go on and then the sleep light comes on then it goes off. Holding the power button lets it go for a little longer then the sleep light blinks a couple of times and then computers off again. Im not sure whats happening. I have tried all of the suggested ways to fix it but it will not turn on.

Is it the logic board(after reading a couple this is what I'm assuming it might be but hoping its not) or could it be the video card?

Yes I only haven't tried using the disk to see if its a hardware problem cause I am at college and I dont believe my cds are here.

First off, try not to start any post with "hey, so..." Second, it is likely the logic board. Exactly how old is this machine?

Sorry I don't know how to start off questions correctly. Secondly it is a Mid 2008 MacBook Pro like the title said.

It has the Nvidia one that is known to mess up I think its 8600?

Im assuming you dont have the AppleCare extended warranty? If so, take it to apple, and let them see if it is a graphics card malfunction. If it is, they should (will?) replace the graphics card for free.

I believe the warranty anyway only goes out to 2 years. I am past that point. The video card is the only part of the computer that is free of charge fix until 2011.

My bad it is 3 but no i do not have it.

As I said in my previous post,
