I am going to upgrade my 160GB HDD in my Mid 2009 MBP 13" with an SSD. From everything I have read the Crucial M4 is a solid choice. I am looking at a 128GB for that. I am planning on putting a 750GB-1TB in the optical bay, probably a 7200RPM unit from Seagate.

It is my understanding the optical SATA can only handle 1.5gb or can it do 3.0gb over there as well?

My questions is that is there an advantage to going with a fast HDD drive in the optical drive, or is my SATA not fast enough to exploit it?

Since I want to edit videos, keeping OEM HDD in the original spot and a SSD over in the optical bay be better?

My plan for the MCP is to use is with Adobe Premier 11 for editing GoPro vids and using the Optical nay drive for all the video storage, rendering, scratch pad work. The SSD would be OS and apps.
