I've had my MacBook Pro since late 2010 and I've done several upgrades, including the HDD and RAM. Now, I'm willing to be adventurous and upgrade the logic board, but since Apple doesn't condone replacement, there isn't any information on compatibility. I've read that most A1278 logic boards from 2010 are compatible, but what about from more recents versions? I haven't found any differences between model years other than the new Thunderbolt port and an issue with the old iSight (which I need to replace anyway), but I can't be sure if the OS will adjust to the newer CPU. The replacement part I found is for my size (13") and has a 2.3GHz i5. My current processor is a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo. Will an upgrade be possible considering this new logic board is for the same model but a different year?
