Hi all,
I have a strange problem in that my Mid-2010 21.5" iMac will not show a USB external hard disk as a valid boot device when I hold the option key down at startup.
However, my MacbookPro instantly recognises it and boots into Windows, as does my 27" iMac at work.
As far as OS versions go, the 21.5" iMac has a fresh install of Yosemite (not an upgrade from Mavericks, I wiped it all out and started from scratch), the MBP has the latest version of Mavericks on it and the 27" work iMac has Yosemite on it (which was an upgrade from Mavericks).
The only big difference between them all is that the 21.5" iMac USED to have a BootCamp partition on it, where as the 27" iMac and MBP did not.
Is it possible that this could be my problem? Could BootCamp have done something to my startup options on the 21.5"? How would I go about resetting that?
Does anyone else have any ideas?
Thanks,
Daniel
