Hi there,

before I start just wanted to say I am new to the forum and if I make a mistake please understand. So, I have seen the black keyboard on a white mid 2010 macbook online and I really like it and want to do it. Now could I put a mid 2010 macboob PRO keyboard in? Or does it not work with regular macbooks?

Thanks,
Jesse

It is a different board, so just swapping the keyboard mechanism won’t work. It would actually be easier to swap the key caps, which is what I have done on both white MacBooks I have.

Thats looks great, so do you think the best course of action is to buy a replacement pro keyboard and switch the keys from that?

Yup! Make sure you get one for a 2010 or early 2011 13" MBP, as I've had the best luck swapping those over. Late 2011 and later seem to be hit or miss on whether or not they switched the design of the latches for the key caps just slightly enough that it's a PITA to make them work.

Thank you SOOOO much!

Have a great day,
