Mid-2010 Macbook Pro memory and max res

Have a mid-2010 macbook pro that I want to keep for a bit longer. Use a lot of memory intensive programs such as aperture and multiple tabs of chrome.

Currently have 8GB of ram and want to move up to 16GB. I know my machine supports 1067MHz ram but can I also use 1333MHz modules?

Does anyone know if these rams are trustworthy and if there is any brand behind them?

Also, can I use a 4K display via displayport? How about an LG 34UM95?

AFAIK, on the 2010 models, only the 13" with the latest firmware will accept 16GB, the 15's will not. You haven't mentioned which exact model you have so that's just a heads up.

Apple states the max external display resolution is 2560x1600. Can you go higher? Maybe so. I don't think a display with a higher resolution existed back in 2010, so perhaps the specs simply never have been updated.

So this is with chrome and some apps running. Is 16gb gonna make a difference? already have an SSD.

Your memory pressure is in the green so I don't think extra RAM will make a difference.

Yes. You will have even less memory pressure. As memory pressure isn't remotely a problem at the moment though I can't see it making any difference to the experience...

So does anybody know the best display I can get for this laptop? How about a 4K tv?
