Hey peeps,

I've currently got a mid 2011 1.6ghz 2gb ram air.

My question is I've just started editing video and photos with premier pro
And photoshop and my air isnt coping to well! It keeps freezing! Completely!

I'm looking at selling it and buying a 2009 2.6ghz 8gb ram MacBook pro!

My question is will this be up to the job better than my air?

Sorry if I have posted in the wrong section but wasn't sure lol

Thanks
Rich

Yes

You are using very memory intensive software as do I. 8-16 GB RAM is greatly recommended, you will be shocked at the speed difference. The other sides of the equation are SSD vs HDD where the SSD is always always much faster and processor speed.

My 2012 13" MB Air with 2 GHZ i7, 8 GB RAM, and 512 GB SSD is fully eight times faster than my 2010 15" MB Pro with 2.66 GHZ i7, 8 GB RAM, and 7200 RPM 500 GB HDD.

Unfortunately, as you already know, speed is money.
