I have a mid-2011 i7 iMac with a 256 GB SSD and a 2 TB HDD. For some unknown stupid reason I decided I wanted to play around with creating a Mac Fusion drive with these two drives. It worked, although once completed it felt a little sluggish and I am concerned that since (at least I think) its not supported by Apple a future update would cause trouble I want to go back to factory (down to the naming schemes).

I already broke the fusion drive so it sees two separate drives again. Is there anything I must create partition wise to get it back to what I had out of the box; was there just one partition on each drive? Are the drives from Apple just labeled Macintosh HD 1 & Macintosh HD 2? I seem to recall a recovery partition. Does a clean install of Mountain Lion create that? Also, once I get the partition issue settled and ML installed. I don't remember, was everything stored on the SSD (including the home directory)?
