Hello everyone! I have a Mid 2012 13" non-retina MacBook Pro. This is my first MacBook Pro. I have 2 questions. First, when I startup the Mac or wake it up from sleep (usually for long periods of time), the SuperDrive makes a noise. Is that normal? And another, I notice pretty short battery life. I have 49 charge cycles, and the laptop is well under a year old, (bought it in November 2013), and the battery health is at 90%. The mAH capacity left on the MacBook is 5328 mAH. I don't think that is normal. I calibrate the battery every month and still find that to be a problem. I can't seem to get more than 5 1/2 hours out of very light web browsing, not the advertised 7 hours. Should I talk to Apple about this? Thanks!

Yes, it is normal for the superdrive to make a sound. Mine does the same.
I don't think you have to worry about your battery.

Superdrive sound is normal. 7 hours is optimal settings and using Safari. If you use Chrome, Firefox, or any other browser, your battery will definitely take a hit. Sounds like your battery is fine.
