mid-2012 15" replace ram slots

Hi all, I have a mid-2012 15" and the tabs that hold the top memory slot have broken off, so the memory cannot click in. I found a junk mid-2010 model, I'm wondering if I can swap the entire slot assembly. There are 4 screws that I removed but it won't budge, so I don't know if it soldered to the logic board. Any ideas please? Thanks!
