Mid 2012 MacBook Air External Display Max Resolution

I have a 2012 MacBook Air with these specifications.

• 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5
• 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
• Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

I am looking at purchasing the linked monitor. It displays at 3440 x 1440.

1. Will the Air be able to display in this resolution when using the monitor alone?
2. When the Air is open and both screens are in use will both display at full resolution?

I don't care about gaming on the monitor.

According to Apple the MBA 2012 supports external displays with up to 2560 to 1600 pixels max. So it may be possible to use the monitor but not at native resolution, it will look ugly and upscaled at best.

hi Canubis whose name is NOT a combination of Canada and Anubis and is an entirely mysterious name is right . That will look ugly; seeing that upscaled graphics look ugly .
