Alright guys there's a lot of back story to this so I will try to keep it as brief as possible.
I originally bought a Mac Mini, a late 2011 I believe it was, I used it for a while and everything looked great, I decided I wanted something more portable so I picked up a refurb 2011 MBP 13" from Apple. I immediately noticed any text on it was very fuzzy and blurry. After researching and researching I could not fix it, the genius bar confirmed they noticed the issue but could not find a fix for it so I returned it.
I bought a mid 2012 13" MBP with lion installed. The fuzzy fonts were still there, BUT that night I got it this update was released and bam! All my fonts looked crisp and clear again, had no problems after that even upgraded to mountain lion without issue.
Here is the update: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1542
Well I recently picked up an SSD for my macbook, I didn't have anything important on it so I just did a clean install of lion through internet recovery, upgraded to mountain lion and the fuzzy fonts are back.
The first thing I tried to do is install the update that corrected the issue before only to see since I'm on 10.7.5 or newer I cannot install the update. I have searched and searched far and wide for a solution to this. I actually wound up cloning my old mbp HDD to the SSD just so I wouldn't have fuzzy fonts but I really want to do a clean install because the SSD isn't as fast after the clone.
I've checked font smoothing, setting the font smoothing globally via terminal, I've checked contrast in UA, every single setting is identical between the old hdd and the new one but the fuzzy/blurry fonts persist.
Currently I just completed a time machine backup and I'm doing a clean install of mt lion then plan to restore the backup to see if it corrects it but I have my doubts.
Below is a link to a screenshot, you can see the window on the left looks good, as I want it to, the window on the right is the issue I'm complaining about. I have triple checked all my settings, they are the exact same between the two installs and adium is not the only application with the issue it is just the one I used for an example. The issue does seem to occur system wide, whether in a browser, chat application, itunes, etc.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated as it has been the bane of my existence for several months now.
