Picked up a mid-2012 13" MBP a week ago for my younger brother -- seemed like the computer was in great condition for the price. Ran fine up until a day or two ago.
Then I started getting the blinking question mark. Opened it up, and saw that the SSD was DUCT TAPED to the chasis! Ordered new screws in.
I noticed that the display cable was duct taped to the logic board, so I left it... but now I'm getting blotchy LED patterns across the bottom of the screen. I carefully removed the tape but the problem persists.
Anyone have experience with this? Is the cable damaged? The connector? An issue with the display?
I'd like to get to the bottom of this before buying parts.
