ok so i have a Mid-2012 MacBook Pro 13" that has been upgraded to 16gb of ram and it has a 500gb 850 EVO ssd in it. on other words plenty for Catalina.

however, it has a weird problem. if i don't touch keyboard and trackpad for a few minutes the Mac gets super sluggish. if i have a task running it'll go really slow and even the screensaver runs at 1 to 3 fps.

i know it's a Catalina problem since this doesn't happen on OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion which i also have installed. on top of that Mountain Lion feels much much much faster but i guess that's just because it's old.

regardless Catalina has been hell for the last 6 months or so, idk what Apple did to it but it's becoming awful to use.

is there any fix for this or shall i just revert it back to Mojave? because i'm at the point where i'd rather use Mountain Lion than this, as Catalina made my reliable daily computer very unreliable, since i can't leave it run something while i go do something else because it'll start becoming super slow.
