Mid-2012 MBP with Win7 in Bootcamp-upgrade safe?

Hi,
I have a Mid-2012 MBP with Win7 in Bootcamp that I use for gaming. Has anyone with a similar situation upgraded to Sierra? Would I need to clean install? Would it erase my Bootcamp Win partition? I would prefer NOT to lose my partition.

I'm happy to confirm that updating OS X will not affect an existing BootCamp partition. You won't need to clean install macOS either.
