The display on my rMBP is failing. The screen was originally replaced 4 months into ownership in 2012 due to a dead pixel. Now, about 2 years later I am having the same issue, which started with 1 dead pixel, however I now have over 10. They just keep popping up. Has anyone else had this issue? It just keeps getting worse, and it appears my best option is to shell out $500 for a new display.

Not really seen many instances of that :(

Some of the Mid-2102 rMBPs do seem to have problems with the graphics chips, or the switching between them, but that's a different story.

I recently went from mid-2012 rMBP to the 2014 model. The differences between the models are pretty small, so it my be worth going for the repair.

I have a 2012 rMBP and I've not incurred (knocks on wood), any issues with my display. Other then repairing, you don't have much of choice in what you can do :(
