DDR3L 1333 MHz, I've been getting Nagged about Heavy Memory Usage & Swap, So I increased from the Previous 8Gb DDR3 10600S that wasn't actually Matched to 16GB Matched DDR3L 1333 MHz, But Still Only sees 8GB & I Still get Nagged about Heavy Memory & Swap Usage. According to Many interNet sources this MacBook Pro Does Support 16GB RAMemory, Altho Officially Apple only supports 8Gb, But Obviously that's insufficient for me. This issue has Stumped Apple Support

MacBookPro9.2, intel Core i5, Boot ROM Version: 222.0.0.0.0, SMC Version ( System ): 2.2f44, Mojave 10.14.2

Please Help

;-)K

How many sticks of RAM are you using? To get 16 GB functioning, your Mac version requires two 8 GB sticks of PC3-12800 DDR3L 204-pin @ 1600 Hz.

Thanx Spoon, 2 Sticks PC3-12800 DDR3L 204-pin @ 1600 Hz., I Beg your pardon for not being clear. ;-)K

Have you tried reseating the RAM? One stick might not be inserted properly, or perhaps one of the sticks is bad.

I would try your Mac with one stick installed. If it works, take it out and try the other stick. If it works, put both in making sure they’re inserted properly and see if both work together. Hopefully one of the slots isn’t bad.
