Hi Everyone,

I have a Mid 2014 MBP that is having a display issue. The screen doesn't appear cracked but the bottom section of the screen is glitching. Also, the rest of the screen had very light gray lines at one point which seems to have corrected itself. My question is, does this look like the screen will need to be replaced, or maybe just a loose connection? I took it to the Apple store and they wanted to do the general repair for about $500. Want to make sure I can't just crack it open and do it myself before spending the $500.

Thanks!

Looks like more of an electronics issue than the screen. Might be cable, graphics (do you have discrete graphics?). If I had this problem, i think that I'd buy a MacBook Air M1 over spending $500 to fix this. I do have a 2014 MacBook Pro 15 myself and it's fine but anything this old can die at any time.
