I’m considering selling my base model Mid 2017 MacBook Air, I’ve seen the same model go for $500. (USD) Is $500 a reasonable asking price? My MBA is in perfect condition no scratches, or dents on the exterior, all keys work.

I have the original charging cord if that affects anything.

I’d say that’s a really good deal. I believe that’s the last year you can remove and upgrade SSD.. I have early 2015 and I paid 450$ For 256/8. Upgraded to 2TB.. if I was in market I’d buy off you..lol.. I’d ask slightly more…

That's probably a fair asking price. That's about on par with the cost of a 13" 2014 Air with an i7 8GB of RAM and 256GB. I'm assuming you're rocking an i5 with 4GB of RAM. So, yeah, I'd say your asking price is probably perfectly fair.

Thanks for the help.

If it changes anything I do have the i5 but with 8GB RAM.
I'd say that $550-600 is probably better then. Hell, Apple was selling those things refurbished a good eight months ago for $700. So, you might be able to ask $600-650 depending on the condition. For some reason, I misread and thought you were talking about an Early 2015 model (which is the same machine, ultimately, but the valuation tends to go up or down based on model year).

Wow. I have the same model (128GB, 8GB, i5) and just purchased a base M1 Airbook to replace it. Figured the mid 2017 wasn't worth much so I'd just keep it as backup but seeing these prices is making lean toward selling it now. I only paid $849 for it in the fall of 2017. Apple offered $340 as a trade-in. I wonder where a good place to try to sell it would be?

Smaller city in the desert southwest USA. I don't do FB but might give OfferUp a try and there is a classified section on Nextdoor where I have my account deactivated but could turn it back on to sell something.

Wow I was literally about to ask where best place to sell my MacBook was…
