MIDI Keyboard not working

Over the hills and far away...
Ok, so I have Logic Express 8 and a MIDI keyboard and for some reason Logic will not play anything I am playing on the keyboard. It works fine with the Caps Lock keyboard and all that.

I have the keyboard's MIDI out connected to my Echo Audiofire4's MIDI in and in the Logic window, whenever I press any of the keys nothing changes in the bar at the bottom where MIDI in and out are displayed

Anyone have any ideas why this is not working?
