Do we think Starlight and Midnight are the new standard ’light and dark greys’?
Or were simply part of the new colours for series 7.

Will future Apple watches continue along this colour scheme? I’m guessing yes and only the SE will have Space Grey and Silver option moving forward.

I’m kinda floored that I decided I’d get an AW7 this morning, so went online to look at space grey with a black band, and I’m just now realizing most of the black options are basically gone. I can’t get a dark aluminum watch without some color hue? I can’t even get a black sport loop if I go black titanium? WTF?

Yeah it's quite surprising. Although - from what I've seen the midnight is actually less blue in real life than it appears on the website. It's really quite close to black. I have the black Nike SE and would go for a black S8 if available. If black is not available then the midnight might be close enough in real life. I would try to find one in person and take a look of possible.

I'm with you though - I hope we get back to proper black.

I can’t do even the slightest hint of any color. Would drive me nuts. Such a weird decision.
I'm sure it's to 'encourage' people to buy more bands. A black band goes with everything. But a slightly blue band won't go as well with certain outfits, which may be enough to push people to buy another band.

Is an Apple watch used as a formal or semi-formal watch?
It looks fine with business wear, and even with tuxedos. Not so sure about wearing one with an evening gown, but if I wanted to, I could probably have a dress designed to match the watch. ;p

I have the red- really looks nice in person- but the red bands Apple sells, do not look good with it
imho. I do have the gold s5. Not sure I like startlight. I do think their colors are weird this year.

What bothers me is that the Starlight AW is not the same color as the Starlight iPhone 13. At least in pictures, the watch is more champagne and the phone (which I own) is definitely closer to silver, albeit not as "pure" a silver as in previous years.

My wife and I both have the Starlight AW's and they look more silver, or actually more like the brushed titanium in real life. We both love them. She also has the iPhone 13 in Starlight and it matches her watch. I upgraded from AW 4 silver, and most of my bands still look good with the Starlight. Leather goes great no matter the color FYI.

I don't like those colored in my watch. I would much rather had either space grey or silver, and they have eliminated both options. I think they are well aware of that, upselling people to the SS or Titanium model if they want a more discrete watch.
