I was able to snag an iPad 3 on launch day 00:00. Does anybody know if they will start selling the iPhones at midnight too?

Idk if they're gonna have a midnight launch, but I know that they're selling the 5C for $79 and the 5S for $189 :D with 2-yr contract of coarse.

I bet you who will know the answer....maybe WALMART! Call and ask them

If you've seen my other posts (and others' posts as well), which obviously you have not, you'd know that calling hasn't led to much information since no one seems to know.

If it was such common knowledge that nobody knows then why start another thread?

No I didn't read any of your posts on other threads. Do you read all the posts by the people you quote?

It took me 2 min to find out if my local Walmart will be open at midnight for the iPhone launch.

Congrats.

I just called my Walmart. The guy said that they won't be able to begin selling until 8:00 AM because the carriers will be unavailable to activate the phones at midnight.

Just called my local 24hr Walmart. Electronics dude confirmed they will sell them tomorrow starting at 9:00AM, no sooner....

I talked to them last week. The guy told me it's not about what they're "allowed" to do, it's that the mobile center doesn't open until 0800 and Walmart is not doing anything special to pay people to be there any earlier; they probably haven't even thought about it. Those are simply Walmart employees, not AT&T or Verizon (etc.) employees.

But not every Wal-Mart has a specifically designated Mobile Center. There are some that simply sell them in the regular electronics department that you can freely walk up to at any time of day.

I called my local Walmart earlier this afternoon. The lady told me their entire shipment was only 3 space gray phones.
