I have an imac from December here at work, and an intel mac from last month at home. BOTH mighty "mice" have scroll button problems. It gets stuck almost like its clogged when scrolling towards me (down a page).

We had this problem with one when they first came out, but it was purchased AT the apple store, so when we took it back there it was exchanged no problem..but both of these came from online purchases and were included with the machines.....does anyone know the policy with these things? I can't really send my mice away to be replaced.....i have nothing to use for back ups. Anyone know if i can take it directly to the apple store?

This may have been posted before so I apologize if that's the case....any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

This seems to be a issue that has effected a lot of people, if you search around the forum you will find lots of solutions.

If that doesn;t work and you need to return I would ring apple, they might even just send you a new one without sending it back. It probably depends how much the mice cost apple. For example I know that many companies will send out new keyboards without any proof as there like 50p each to them...although I suspect a mighty mouse is worth more then 50p :)

The mighty mouse is a mighty annoying device...

You need to clean the track ball when it stops scrolling up or down (and it will stop..)

I took my MM and upside down, rolled the track ball vigorously over a wet paper towel. Then I scrolled the hell out of it, really digging down into the trackball.

A day later it scrolls like new.

I returned a mighty mouse TWICE for that very same problem. And in both
times I got a brand new one. The first time scrolling down stopped working
so I returned it and got a new one 2 days after. The second time (after using
the mouse for 1 month), scrolling up stopped working so I returned it and
they got me a new one after 5 days !!!

One more thing I forgot, you can take it to an authorized service center or
the Apple store but they probably wont be able to give you a new one right
away. Sometimes they (or you can ask) offer you another mouse which
you can use during the time your MM gets fixed.
