Mighty Mouse - Already wearing 'glide ring' flat?

I flipped my 8 day old BT MM over to clean the bottom and noticed a flat spot at the head of the mouse on the grey glide ring. I cannot recall if it was there to begin with, but I can only imagine it wasn't. It seems that I am already wearing a flat spot in the glide ring.

Has anyone else seen this?

I just replaced my MM yesterday and I've got the same thing on mine. Doesn't really bother me though so I won't return it.
