Since yesterday scrolling upwards is no longer possible with my brand new Mighty Mouse :( . It stopped working all of a sudden. The other 3 directions work without problems. Apple delivered it with my MacBook last week. So I'm gonna call them tomorrow for a replacment.

Is this a known problem:confused: ?

There's been a few people with problems on these boards similar to yours with the Mighty Mouse. If you search for the threads you'll find them. Apple should be good to replace it however seeing as it's so new.

The way it works is kind of a step back in tech. The trackball in essence is really just an inverted mouse-ball and hence the mechanism is prone to interference. Grit, hair, dust etc is all going to work it's way in there eventually. Even your new one will need to be cleaned eventually. Here's the Apple cleaning instructions and here's a better set of instructions with a problem similar to your own :).
