Mighty Mouse Problem

Hey Guys
My Mighty Mouse is not reacting when I press the mouseball, and the buttons on the side of the Mouse.
I have checked the mouse preferences, and everything looks right (Mac OS 10.5.8).
I have not heard of this problem before, but do somebody have a solution or at least an idea on whats wrong?

No they are not, but according to the information on the mouse, the batteries are on 81%.

Okay this is weird.
Have tried rebooting the mac several times without any effect, but when I turned it on this time after have been shut down, the Mighty Mouse started working again.
