Hey..

My mighty mouse wont scroll down, only sideways and up..

Anyone else had this happen? Is there anything I can do to fix it.

I bought it in the UK but am currently living in Thailand and there is no apple stores here, just resellers. Whats the deal with warranty?

Thanks.

I have had similar experiences. I don't know if this is a good idea, but I have periodically wet a paper towel and rubbed it on the "nub", figuring it might be gummed up inside. So far has worked every time.

I have a love/hate relationship with the MM. I love the industrial design. I am less happy about having to relearn to lift the left finger before right clicking. also, it is difficult to right click while moving the mouse. The nub design is ok, when it is working right...

Nice one! It worked...

Had to be rather aggressive with it though! :)

Thanks

You know it was for this exact reason that I decided to save my precious $50 and not get the wired MM lol. I was extremely tempted to after using them at the Apple store, but after reading the reviews on Apple about the scroll wheel not lasting long, I decided to wait for Apple to improve the design before I buy one. :D

had the same problem with BTMM. didn't seem quite right from the start -- and, it got worse as time went by. apple store gave me a new one.
new one works like a charm.

Same problem here, but even trying all suggestions it seems to need it more often. I'm tempted to bring it to the Apple store, try to get it replaced.

me too.. i've done all the cleaning, taking it apart and followed instructions on Apple Support site..

I've already had 1 replacement about 4-5 months ago..

My second replacement is due today!!

How'd you take it apart? The solution I read on the support site made no mention of that.

I'm also on my second BTMM. I have a new one here still in the wrapper. i bought a Logitech MX Revolution. It's more mouse than my hands know how to deal with.

turn it upside down and roll the scrollball over a sheet of paper, this always helps and is the simplest way to clean it…

I had the same problem, so I took it apart and cleaned it out and the ball and those little pins that let the ball roll.

I got some special glue (forgot what kind) to glue the outer ring back on.

You might consider that, or calling Apple. Please note that you can permanently damage your mouse by taking it apart.

Yep, mine does that too on occasion. Turn it off then back on. That solves it for me, but takes like 30 s.
